- How to add downloadable font in fcpx

PRELIM

This is a practice film exercise, and indeed my first time filming, directing and editing a short film. For the others (par from Seth) this was just a refresher however it was a good chance for me to test my editing ability and learn from the experience. Another aspect, which I didn't even think about coming into the subject, was the directing. The others being familiar with how to direct decided to be actors for the piece to give Seth and I and good chance to try out directing.
Overall I learnt a lot of skills and abilities as far as editing goes as well as technique and terminology, as Seth and I were also in charge of creating an initial shot list, which was a good test of our knowledge of shot types.

Some of the techniques we learned for editing and filming were as follows:

  • Voice-over
  • Foley Sound
  • Match-on-action cut
  • Youtube to mp3 conversion
  • Fast cuts
  • Diegetic Vs Non-diegetic sound
  • saying '3, 2 ......' but not 1 while directing
  • basic fcpx editing ( extremely rough though )

MICRO-DRAMA

Mr burrows had shown us the previous A2 groups Micro-drama, in which a trestle masked villain goes on a homicidal rampage in order to get to his one true love, he does so using wooden spoons.
We thought this was not only comedic but also a creative concept in order to get some good practice for; filming; directing; acting; editing; etc. So with a little help from our teacher we created THE SEQUEL

Sequel

...
...

This allowed us to practice some of the skills required to make a film opening as well as really highlight the proppian archetypes in relation to this comedic piece (with help of the trestle masks)

This was good insight into media for myself praticullarly as I am still grasping the basics of editing as well as the theories and signifiers that are crucial in the making of films
