Ident

This is the ident for my film company 'Bright Films', this is the ident I'll use at the beginning of my Film opening

In tradition with most horror idents I went with a very dark background
As I am an Indie company it has very short screen time (8 seconds to be exact)
Horror use serif font and that's why I did too
To connote the horror genre I had a very dark ident however the light coming on connotes the comedy genre in the sense that it is a juxtaposition to the darkness

Summary Because we are doing a hybrid genre of the different genres, it is harder to properly label what the conventions for are exact hybrid would look like, however we can see the conventions surrounding the individual genre's and then combine them. My Target Audience DRFT

My Target audience is affected by several different factors that I have to take into mind, at a start my target audience is 15-24 as that is the original target audience from Shaun of the Dead. However I have to take into account that as an Indie movie I may have Issues with age rating from the BBFC and this is shown through different research we did in class into a few different films BFC Age rating, Right or Wrong? What is the BBFC? The BBFC, or the British board of film classification, is the company that decides what age rating, any film or TV show, is given. Their goal is to be  ' helping children and families choose well by providing them with the guidance they need to help them choose what’s right for them and avoid what’s not.'  For more information, they talk about it on their  BBFC website  and their main staff. This is England - 18+  This is England, a classic Warp film, directed by the auteur director Shane Meadows, received an 18+ age rating from the BBFC

Learning basics This was the first step I took in Media, as before I even knew what a film opening was I needed to learn basic terms and conventions. So this was some of my starting points about learning the basics ML Basic media language – shot types, angles Shot types   -E.C.U An Extreme close up shot, if on a person, often has the bottom of the nose and top of the forehead in central frame, anymore becomes a close up shot. An e.c.u connotes to an emotion and helps anchor the preferred reading. An example is in X men, helping to show the hate magneto has towards wolverine -C.U A close up shot, usually doesn't go below the shoulder, and doesn't go above the hair. Close up shots are used to show a facial expression, helping reveal a protagonist. Close ups are often paired with a shallow field of focus as to connote that the focus and importance is on the closer character.
